Wills and Estate Planning
In addition to setting out how you would like your property and any assets to be distributed, you will appoint a trusted person or persons as executor, appointing guardians and trustees to look after you child’s or children’s if necessary, making specific bequests to charities and indeed include funeral arrangements. If you choose not to make a will, or rely on a homemade will that may not be prepared correctly those wishes may not be carried out. We would advise you not to take that risk and contact our Wills and Estate Planning solicitors who are on hand to discuss your own particular situation with you to make sure your wishes are carried out as you intend.
We also provide advice to clients in relation to Estate and Succession Planning, particularly in relation family-owned businesses and farm partnerships to make sure they pass in as an efficient manner as possible.
We also represent clients who may not have been properly provided for from a deceased person’s estate or if they have any other concerns regarding the administration of an estate.
We will need the following information from you before we can provide you with advice in relation to your Will:
- List of Assets, the approximate value and location of same.
- Do you hold any assets jointly with another?
- Do you have certain wishes in relation to assets/ beneficiaries?
- Name(s) and address(es) if your Executor(s) and Guardian(s)/Trustee(s) if you have children under the age of 18.
- Name, address, occupation and date of birth,
- Civil Status. i.e. are you married/single/ separated/divorced/co-habitee,
- Do you have any children?
- A note of your nearest relatives.
